Foot massage and bodily reflex points are taught as part of Kundalini Yoga. Just as Reflexology uses massage to release blocks or open energy or meridian pathways to maintain health or accommodate the power of the body to self-heal, Kundalini Yoga teaches foot massage and hand and finger mudras. Ayurveda adds aromatherapy and the use of essential oils for body and mood maintenance, and self-healing.
In Kundalini Yoga, foot massage may be self administered, or may be administered by one person to another. Body parts, organs and endocrine glands are mapped out. The mapping is consistent with foot Reflexology. The particulars of the map are less important than the general knowledge that foot massage is healthful for a number of reasons, e.g., relaxation, relieving stress, activating bodily healing processes.
